Pricing & Direct Billing

Pricing

MYO is a collaborative clinic of independent regulated health professionals. Each practitioner sets their own rates based on training, experience, treatment focus, and services offered. As a result, rates may differ between practitioners, even for the same appointment length.

The price of each appointment is shown before booking, so clients can review the cost before confirming. If a client is unsure which practitioner or appointment type is the best fit, they are welcome to contact the clinic for guidance.

Direct Billing

MYO Massage Therapy Clinic offers direct billing to participating insurance providers when available. We're happy to submit eligible claims on your behalf so you can focus on your care.

Direct billing is a convenience, not a guarantee of payment. Coverage varies by plan, practitioner type, annual limits, deductibles, referral requirements, and the insurer's adjudication rules.

How direct billing works

  1. Bring your valid insurance information and photo identification to your appointment.
  2. Complete any required consent or assignment forms.
  3. We submit the eligible claim after your treatment.
  4. You pay any amount not covered by your plan at the time of your visit.

Some insurers require the plan member to be present, authorize the claim, or submit the claim personally. If the insurer's portal is unavailable, the claim cannot be processed, or payment is directed to the plan member, the client is responsible for the full appointment fee and may submit the receipt independently.

Participating insurers

MYO currently works with several direct-billing insurance providers, including:

  • Sun Life
  • Canada Life
  • GreenShield
  • Manulife
  • Blue Cross
  • TELUS Health–supported insurers

Direct billing depends on the client's individual plan, and some policies may require the client to submit their receipt manually.

Some insurance plans require a doctor's referral or prescription before they will reimburse massage therapy or acupuncture. This is determined by the client's individual benefit plan—not by MYO or the billing company. Clients should check their policy or contact their insurer before their appointment. MYO can provide the treatment receipt, but the referral must usually be obtained directly from the client's doctor.

Massage therapy and acupuncture coverage

Insurance coverage differs by profession. A plan that covers registered massage therapy may not cover acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine, and vice versa. Clients should confirm their coverage directly with their insurer before booking.

For massage therapy, confirm whether a physician's referral is required and whether the treating Registered Massage Therapist is eligible under the plan.

For acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine, confirm whether the plan covers a Registered Acupuncturist, a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, or both.

Client responsibility

Clients are responsible for understanding their insurance coverage and for paying any balance not paid by the insurer. The clinic cannot access full plan details, guarantee reimbursement, or change an insurer's decision.
