Clinic Policies

Clear policies help us provide a calm, respectful, and reliable experience for every client. Please review the following information before booking. Service-specific requirements may also be shown during online booking or discussed with your practitioner.

Cancellations and missed appointments

We require at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments, will be charged the full appointment fee.

We understand that illness and unexpected circumstances happen. Please contact us as soon as possible. Exceptions may be considered case by case but are not guaranteed.

A valid card on file is required to reserve an appointment and may be used to process an applicable cancellation or missed-appointment fee.

Late arrivals

If you arrive late, your appointment may be shortened so the next client's scheduled time is not affected. The full appointment fee will still apply. If there is not enough time to provide treatment safely or effectively, the appointment may need to be rescheduled and a late-cancellation fee may apply.

Illness and communicable symptoms

Please contact the clinic before attending if you have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, a contagious illness, or symptoms that could place others at risk. Your practitioner will help determine whether the appointment should proceed or be rescheduled. Illness-related cancellations are reviewed case by case.

Payment and receipts

Payment is due at the time of your appointment. Receipts are issued under the name and professional designation of the practitioner who provided the service. Clients are responsible for ensuring that the booked service and practitioner are eligible under their insurance plan.

Direct billing

Direct billing is offered to participating insurers when available, but approval and payment cannot be guaranteed. Clients are responsible for any amount not paid by their insurer. If a claim cannot be submitted or processed, the full appointment fee is due and a receipt will be provided for independent submission.

Consent and treatment choices

Your practitioner will explain the proposed treatment and request your informed consent. You may ask questions, decline any technique, request a change, or stop treatment at any time. Consent is ongoing and may be withdrawn at any point during the appointment.

Minors

A parent or legal guardian may be required to complete consent documentation for a client under the age of 18. Attendance and consent requirements may depend on the client's age, the service booked, and the treating practitioner. Please contact the clinic before booking if you are unsure what is required.

Privacy and electronic communication

MYO respects the privacy of its clients and maintains treatment records in accordance with applicable professional and privacy requirements. Email, voicemail, website forms, and social media are not appropriate for sending detailed medical, insurance, or other sensitive information. Please use secure forms provided by your practitioner when requested.

Respectful and safe conduct

MYO is committed to a safe and respectful environment for clients and practitioners. Harassment, discrimination, sexualized behaviour, threats, intimidation, or abusive conduct will not be tolerated. A practitioner may end or decline an appointment when conduct is inappropriate or safety is compromised. Appointment fees may still apply, and future booking may be refused.

Appointment-only access

MYO operates by appointment only and does not currently have a receptionist. The clinic door may be locked between appointments or while practitioners are providing treatment. Please arrive no more than five minutes before your scheduled appointment and follow any arrival instructions provided by your practitioner.

Emergencies

MYO is not an emergency medical service and website messages are not monitored continuously. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate medical care.

Policy updates

Clinic policies may be updated as services and operational needs change. The policy presented during booking or communicated by your practitioner will apply to your appointment.
