Our Services

We offer a comprehensive range of massage therapy services tailored to your needs.

Swedish Massage Therapy

A Swedish Massage uses lighter pressure than a Deep Tissue treatment. Your RMT will use smooth, flowing techniques to calm your nervous system and ease general muscle tension. This type of Massage Therapy is ideal if you want a soothing, restorative treatment that supports circulation, helps reduce stress, improves mood, and leaves you feeling grounded and reset.

We'll work within your tolerance and adjust pressure at any time.

Deep Tissue Massage Therapy

Deep Tissue Massage is slow, targeted work with firmer pressure than a Swedish Massage. Your RMT will address deeper layers of muscle and fascia, focusing on areas of stubborn tightness and trigger points to improve mobility and reduce pain.

Massage Therapy is evidence-informed, client-centered care designed to relieve muscle tension, reduce discomfort, and improve how you move and feel. Your session is tailored to your body and your goals, whether that's pain relief, recovery, stress reduction, or maintenance.

We'll work within your tolerance and adjust pressure at any time.

Massage Therapy + Cupping/IASTM

Cupping Therapy is a soft-tissue technique that uses gentle suction to lift the skin and underlying tissues. At MYO, we use cupping to reduce tension, improve mobility, support circulation, and help decompress areas that feel "stuck" or restricted.

Cupping Therapy

Cups may be glided over the skin for a broad release, or left in place briefly for more focused work. Cupping can feel like a strong pulling or stretching sensation—intense, but it should remain within your tolerance. Your therapist will adjust suction and technique based on your comfort and goals.

What to expect:

  • A pulling sensation (not sharp pain)
  • Immediate looseness or increased range of motion
  • Temporary circular marks are common and normal (they are not bruises from injury; they're a skin response to suction)

When we modify or avoid these techniques:

Your therapist may adjust or skip cupping over areas with irritated skin, active rashes, open wounds, recent sunburn, or when your health history suggests a more cautious approach.

IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization A.K.A Gua Sha)

IASTM is a targeted technique that uses a smooth tool to glide along the skin over tight or overworked tissues. At MYO, we use it to improve tissue mobility, reduce muscle tension, and help "unstick" areas that feel dense, guarded, or stubbornly restricted.

What it can help with:

  • Muscle tightness and protective guarding
  • Trigger points and dense "stuck" tissue
  • Mobility restrictions and limited range of motion
  • Overuse/repetitive strain recovery support

What it feels like:

A firm, warming pressure, sometimes tender in tight areas but it should stay within your tolerance. We'll check in often and adjust.

What to expect afterward:

Redness is common and normal. Occasionally, light marking can occur, depending on your tissue sensitivity and the technique used. This typically fades within a few days.

This technique is especially useful for chronic tension patterns, repetitive strain, and areas that don't respond well to hands-only work (common zones: neck/upper back, shoulders, forearms, hips, calves, and feet).

Sports Therapy Massage

This treatment is ideal for athletes and active clients who want support with pre-event prep or post-event recovery. Sports Therapy Massage is goal-driven bodywork designed to enhance performance, speed up recovery, and reduce injury risk.

Training and competition put repetitive, high demand stress on the body. In a Sports Therapy session, your therapist focuses on what your sport is asking of you—helping to reduce joint and muscle pain, release stubborn tension, support circulation, and calm inflammation and post-exertion soreness. Techniques are sport-specific and tailored to your patterns and deficits (the areas that consistently tighten, overload, or compensate).

Pre-event treatments

are typically more stimulating and fast-paced to prime your tissues and movement.

Post-event treatments

are slower and recovery-focused to help your body downshift, decompress, and restore mobility.

As always, we'll work within your tolerance and adjust pressure and approach throughout the session.

FST: Fascial Stretch Therapy

Fascial Stretch Therapy is a fully guided, table-based stretch treatment designed to improve mobility, reduce stiffness, and help your body move with less effort. Your therapist uses assisted stretching, gentle joint traction, and PNF-style techniques (contract–relax) to release tight muscle and fascial lines and "unlock" restricted movement.

The easiest way to picture it: it's like yoga on a treatment table—without you doing the work.

FST is ideal if you feel tight, limited in specific movements, or stuck in certain areas (hips, low back, shoulders, calves, etc.). Sessions are customized to your goals and comfort level, and we work within your tolerance the entire time.

Pregnancy Massage Therapy

Pregnancy Massage is a supportive, comfort-focused treatment designed to help you feel more at ease in your changing body. It can help reduce muscle tension, ease common pregnancy discomforts (especially in the low back, hips, glutes, shoulders, and legs), improve circulation, and support better rest.

Your therapist will use positioning and pressure that's safe, comfortable, and tailored to you! Always working within your tolerance. Treatments are adapted based on your trimester, symptoms, and preferences, with the goal of helping you move and breathe easier.

Common reasons clients book:

  • Low back and hip tension
  • Glute, pelvic, and leg fatigue
  • Upper back/neck/shoulder strain
  • Swelling and circulation support
  • Stress reduction and sleep support

What to expect:

  • A calm, gentle-to-moderate pressure approach (deeper work only where appropriate and comfortable)
  • Supportive bolstering/positioning for comfort
  • Ongoing check-ins so you feel safe and supported throughout

Important note:

Please share any pregnancy-related medical considerations (high blood pressure, preeclampsia concerns, clotting history, placenta-related conditions, current complications, or anything your provider has flagged). If you've been advised to avoid massage, we'll defer treatment until you're cleared.

Indie Head Massage

Indie Head Massage is a targeted, calming treatment that focuses on the areas where stress and posture load tend to build: neck, shoulders, scalp, and jaw/face. Your therapist uses a mix of massage techniques and gentle pressure point work to release tension, improve comfort, and help you feel clearer and more relaxed, without needing a full-body session.

This is a great choice if you experience:

  • Neck/shoulder tightness from desk work or phone use
  • Jaw tension/clenching (TMJ-type tightness)
  • Scalp tension or frequent headaches
  • Stress, poor sleep, or feeling "wired"

Breast / Post-Mastectomy Massage Therapy

A mastectomy is surgery that removes breast tissue and may also involve lymph node removal. Because the chest and underarm region are closely connected to shoulder movement, healing can sometimes come with tightness, sensitivity, swelling, and reduced range of motion. Massage therapy can be a supportive part of recovery when it's introduced at the right time and with the right approach.

Post-mastectomy treatment may help decrease pain and protective muscle tension, improve shoulder, chest, and upper-back mobility, support scar tissue mobility as healing allows, reduce swelling and heaviness (including lymphedema-related symptoms), and promote relaxation and more comfortable day-to-day movement.

Timing and clearance

Many people can begin gentle massage around 4–6 weeks after surgery, but the best timing depends on your procedure and how you're healing. Please obtain medical clearance from your surgeon or healthcare provider before booking post-surgical treatment.

Care at MYO

Your treatment is always adapted to your stage of recovery, comfort level, and medical history. Therapists providing post-mastectomy care have completed additional training specific to breast and post-surgical massage, and we work within an evidence-informed, consent-based approach.

Post-mastectomy treatment may help:

  • Decrease pain and protective muscle tension
  • Improve shoulder, chest, and upper-back mobility
  • Support scar tissue mobility as healing allows
  • Reduce swelling and heaviness, including lymphedema-related symptoms
  • Promote relaxation and more comfortable day-to-day movement

Lymphatic Drainage Massage Therapy

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, superficial technique that encourages the natural movement of lymph fluid through the body. It's designed to support healthy circulation of the lymphatic system, helping the body manage excess fluid and metabolic waste.

This is a great choice if you experience:

  • Mild swelling or fluid retention
  • A heavy, "puffy," or congested feeling
  • Supporting recovery after periods of inactivity or travel
  • General wellness and relaxation

Important note:

This service is offered for non-medical concerns only and is not covered by OHIP. If you have a diagnosed medical condition (including lymphedema), please consult your healthcare provider to confirm whether lymphatic drainage is appropriate for you.

Scar Tissue Therapy

Scar tissue therapy is a focused, hands-on treatment that helps improve how scarred tissue moves and feels. Over time, scars can create adhesions—areas where layers of tissue stick together—leading to tightness, restricted mobility, altered sensation, or lingering discomfort.

We use a combination of gentle, precise techniques and progress the work based on your healing stage, comfort, and goals. Treatment is always consent-based and designed to complement your body's natural recovery process.

This treatment may help to:

  • Reduce adhesions and improve tissue glide
  • Restore mobility and range of motion in the surrounding area
  • Decrease pulling, tightness, and sensitivity around the scar
  • Support long-term function and healthier tissue quality
